Apparently the coffee bean is actually a seed that grows in a little red fruit. We had no idea until we heard about cascara, the husk of the fruit that’s traditionally dried and consumed as tea in coffee growing regions. Less waste, more taste!
We combined cascara with organic strawberries from our friends at Stehly Farms and added some fresh organic ginger root for spice and depth. It turned out super jammy with a warm, spiced finish.
